I don't want to drag the discussion in a wrong direction, but I think understanding the marginal nature of victories in US election is important.
Firstly, the level of participation fluctuates marginally around of 50%. Secondly, the winning side has marginally greater popular support. No doubts, it is all democratic and so on, but the result is almost like rolling a dice. Why this time it is so surprising? Is it because not our side is on the top?
If we judge the country by the election results, none of the previous presidents represented any kind of majority apart from the electoral college. So, who exactly does the US president represent?
